Restaurant Branding: Voodoo Lounge
Background
Voodoo Lounge is a Louisiana-style bar set in New Orleans in the late 1930s-40s. The atmosphere is dark and moody, with only dim or candlelight to light the room. Using rougher strokes and tampered lines helps give the grunge effect.
Creative Journey
After finding the mood for my restaurant, I started creating logo ideas. I wanted to feel into the New Orleans style with the more worn-out texts and also try to find a way to tie in that it is a bar-style restaurant.
I also started playing with the text and subtext for my logo. Playing with what style to use and what complements it for a subtext. As well as try different layouts.
Once I had a good couple of ideas for both icon and text, I then played with both, creating variations for each.
